Switzerland Trip: Purity of Lucerne and Culture

Switzerland Trip: Purity of Lucerne and Culture, Tarun Chandel Photoblog

There is something mysteriously unique in the hills of Lucerne. The purity of soul I guess; may be it is the effect of milky white snow or the crystal clear water of Reuss. A walk along the hills has never been so calming.

The purity descends from the hills into the people of Lucerne. The simple living and friendly people of Lucerne will always greet you with a smile. Though most of them speak German, they still take efforts to interact with the tourists.

There is a unique culture in Lucerne; they believe that people who are walking have first right on the road. So is someone accidentally puts just a foot on the road the traffic stops. Yes traffic stops! I had heard about it before, but never really believed till I experienced it in Lucerne. I accidentally stepped on the road and the car coming towards me stopped and actually let me cross the road. I tried it again (twice, though not really proud of it) and traffic stopped every time. Great culture!
