There are a lot of boats parked all around the Zurich Lake. If you visit the lake on a weekend you would notice a crowded Zurich Lake as a lot of people go for sailing over weekend. There are boat rides available for the tourists but if you have friends in Zurich and you get to sail with them, you can explore the Zurich Lake leisurely. The view of Zurich from the middle of Lake on a clear night is breathtaking. Zurich looks like extension of sky with stars scattered all around. I wish it was not freezing else I would have clicked some pics. You can also book a private boat but that will cost you a lot. Transport throughout Switzerland is expensive but you will love the fact that all the means of transport are integrated. So if you buy a ticket from any SBB (if someone knows the full form please let me know as well) counter you can use it in Trains, Buses, Trams and Boats.
